Even the Mountains Move
The sun, the moon, the stars, the sky, the earth manifested themselves with the signs of war, of suffering, of plague.
- Guillaume de Machaut, 1349
A new duet for Külli Roosna and Kenneth Flak, premiering in November 2026.
In Even the Mountains Move Roosna and Flak are exploring the magic of the mundane. If you pay attention to your senses, you can find an enormous space within the present moment, containing entire mythologies and stories of near and distant pasts. Stories that can support and comfort us in dark times: the knowledge that life has always found a way, even when all hope seems impossible. That we are the survivors. That as we are drinking our coffee we are standing on moving mountains. That within an old and broken jewellery box there are treasures to be found. That a borrowed cup can carry the soul of a theater. That a wollen sock can transport you back to the sofa of your grandmother. That a long-dead composer can tell us something about what it means to be alive.
